About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsvillehas an exciting opportunity for an experiencedAdministratorto join our busy Patient Services Department.
This is apermanent part-time position, working10 hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts based on hospital activity and operational requirements.
We are seeking a flexible, reliable and customer-focused qualified who is available to work across a rotating roster, with shifts scheduled between5:45am and 10:00pm, Monday to Sunday.
This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our patients and visitors.
The Patient Services teams are accountable for the end-to-end patient journey.
These key functions include theatre bookings/administration, patient registration, admissions and customer experience, ward reception, health records, patient billings, public contracts and sessional suites.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hours plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doing
Tasks may include but are not limited to;
Coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of administrative services
Structuring and managing outpatient clinic appointments
Building and maintaining effective working relationships with consultants
Preparing, tracking, filing, and maintaining medical records
Assisting with patient billing processes
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Demonstrated ability to work methodically with speed, efficiency, and exceptional attention to detail in a time-pressured environment.
Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment or extensive data entry experience.
Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills, and familiarity with patient administration systems.
Sound written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
