Return to Work & Safety Coordinator

We are now seeking an experienced and motivatedReturn to Work & Safety Coordinatorto lead our workplace safety, injury management and workers compensation functions across the organisation.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for coordinating DARE's:
Workers compensation claims management
Return to Work programs and rehabilitation
Workplace health and safety systems
Incident investigation and corrective actions
Risk management and compliance activities
Safety reporting, training and continuous improvement initiatives
Working closely with managers, employees, insurers, rehabilitation providers and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in reducing workplace injuries and ensuring injured employees receive appropriate support to return to meaningful work.
What You'll Do
Manage workers compensation claims from notification through to closure
Develop and coordinate Return to Work Plans and suitable duties programs
Liaise with insurers, rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners and regulators
Coordinate incident investigations and identify preventative actions
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety audits
Maintain and improve WHS policies, procedures and systems
Analyse injury and incident trends to identify improvement opportunities
Deliver safety initiatives and coordinate WHS training programs
Prepare reports and recommendations for Executive Management and the Board

Who You Are
You are a proactive and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working with people and making workplaces safer.
You bring:
Experience coordinating workers compensation claims and injury management programs
Strong knowledge of NSW workers compensation and return to work requirements
Understanding of contemporary Work Health and Safety legislation
Excellent investigation, problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
The ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high attention to detail
A cooperative and supportive approach when working with injured employees and managers
Essential Requirements
Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Injury Management, Human Resources or a related field
Experience in workers compensation, return to work, safety or risk management roles
Current Drivers Licence
Strong report writing and administrative skills
Desirable
Return to Work Coordinator accreditation
Experience in disability services, community services, health or not-for-profit sectors
Experience with WHS or workforce management systems such as Employment Hero or similar platforms
