About the Role
Neumann Contractors is seeking an experiencedTechnical Writerto join our Engineering team.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this role is responsible for creating, managing and maintaining technical documentation across our marine, dredging and engineered equipment operations.
You will work closely with engineers, project teams and operational personnel to produce high-quality Operation and Maintenance Manuals (OMMs), On Board Safety Manuals (OBSMs), Vessel Operating Procedures (VOPs), OEM manuals and engineering documentation that is accurate, compliant and easy to understand.

Key Responsibilities
As Technical Writer, you will:
Prepare and maintain Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMMs) for Neumann equipment.
Develop and maintain On Board Safety Manuals (OBSMs) and Vessel Operating Procedures (VOPs) for marine and dredging operations.
Compile OEM manuals and supporting technical documentation.
Produce project documentation including technical submissions, inspection records, data sheets and engineering deliverables.
Work with engineers and operational teams to gather and verify technical information.
Extract and incorporate engineering drawings, illustrations and 3D model views into technical documentation.
Maintain document control through effective version management and document numbering.




Ensure documentation complies with relevant regulatory requirements, client specifications and company standards.
Review and proofread technical documents to ensure consistency, accuracy and presentation quality.
Support tender submissions, product literature and technical information required by Sales and Marketing.
Identify opportunities to improve documentation systems, templates and processes.
About You
You are an organised, detail-oriented technical communicator who enjoys working with engineers and translating complex technical information into clear, professional documentation.
You will ideally bring:
Approximately three or more years' experience in technical writing within engineering, manufacturing, marine or heavy industry.
Experience preparing technical manuals, operational procedures or compliance documentation.
Excellent written communication, editing and proofreading skills.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
Strong Microsoft Office and PDF editing skills.
Experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault, or similar CAD and document management systems, will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of document control practices and version management.
Experience working with AMSA or other regulatory documentation requirements will be advantageous.
A tertiary qualification in Technical Communication, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable but not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
