Shape the future of spot spraying in Australian agriculture.
EXXACT Robotics is the innovation and technology division of the EXEL Industries Group, a global leader in agricultural spraying and crop protection equipment.
Through internationally recognised brands including Agrifac, Hardi, Apache, Berthoud and Tecnoma, we develop next-generation technologies combining robotics, artificial intelligence, sensors, agronomy, mechatronics and data science to help farmers produce more with fewer inputs.
As we expand our presence in Australia, we are seeking a highly capable Senior Agronomy & Product Development Specialist to bridge the gap between European-developed technologies and the unique needs of Australian broadacre farming systems.
This is not a traditional engineering role.
We are looking for an agronomically focused professional who understands Australian cropping systems, weeds, herbicides, farming practices and grower decision-making, and can translate those insights into product improvements and future innovation.
The Opportunity
Precision spraying and spot spraying technologies are rapidly transforming broadacre farming by helping growers reduce chemical usage, manage resistant weeds and improve operational efficiency.
Technologies such as optical spot spraying have demonstrated significant reductions in herbicide use while improving application precision.
In this highly autonomous role, you will become EXXACT Robotics' Australian market expert for precision spraying technologies.
Based within Agrifac Australia's facilities, you will work closely with local sales, service and technical teams, helping to connect Australian grower needs and market opportunities with global product development and innovation initiatives.
You will spend significant time working directly with growers, agronomists, research organisations and industry stakeholders to understand:
Australian cropping systems and production practices
Weed challenges and herbicide resistance pressures
Emerging pests and agronomic threats
Chemical usage patterns and regulatory considerations
Adoption barriers and opportunities for precision spraying technologies
Customer requirements for current and future spot spraying solutions.
You will then convert those insights into actionable product requirements, working closely with Product Management and R&D; teams in France to ensure products are developed for Australian conditions and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Agronomic Intelligence
Develop deep knowledge of Australian broadacre farming systems.
Monitor agronomic, regulatory and technology trends affecting precision spraying.
Identify emerging weed, pest and crop-management challenges.
Analyse and monitor competitive precision agriculture and spot spraying solutions.
Track customer adoption trends and market opportunities.
Grower Engagement & Research
Build relationships with growers, agronomists, consultants, researchers and industry organisations.
Conduct detailed user interviews and needs analysis.
Attend field days, industry events and on-farm demonstrations.
Establish and manage research and validation partnerships.
Document real-world use cases and customer pain points.
Product Development Interface
Act as the voice of the Australian customer within the global organisation.
Translate field observations into functional product specifications.
Prioritise product enhancements based on customer value and business impact.
Contribute to product roadmap development.
Collaborate with global engineering, software and data science teams.
Support product validation, testing and commercialisation activities.
Provide regular and insightful updates.
Field Evaluation & Validation
Conduct on-farm trials and performance evaluations.
Collect qualitative and quantitative user feedback.
Assess agronomic and economic outcomes.
Recommend product improvements and innovation opportunities.
Serve as the Australian technical subject matter expert.
Technical Enablement
Support demonstrations and customer evaluations.
Assist commercial teams with technical expertise and advice.
Deliver training to dealers, distributors and key stakeholders.
Represent EXXACT Robotics at industry events and conferences.
About You
