Our client is a large NSW Government organisation responsible for delivering and maintaining critical transport infrastructure across Current South Wales.

Looking for a change from domestic or repetitive maintenance work?
We're looking for experienced Electricians with industrial maintenance, instrumentation or electronics experience to join a specialist tunnel maintenance team in Tweed Heads.
You'll help maintain critical electrical systems that keep major road tunnels operating safely, including power distribution, traffic systems, fire protection equipment and electronic control systems.
Position:3x Traffic Signals Technician (Tunnels) / Electrician
Location:Tweed Heads West NSW
Pay:$***** per hour + superannuation
Hours:8.5 hours per day - 9 Day Fortnight.
Occasional night works 1-2 weeks per month.
Duration:6 Months with possible extension
Start Date:ASAP
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
Fault find and repair electrical and electronic equipment
Maintain tunnel electrical distribution systems
Service traffic signals and tunnel control equipment
Test and maintain PLCs, controllers and instrumentation
Maintain fire detection, suppression and life safety systems
Inspect lighting, ventilation and monitoring systems
Read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Perform HV switching where authorised
Complete inspections, testing and maintenance reports
Respond to emergency breakdowns when required
Support shutdowns and night maintenance works




Work safely in live operational tunnel environments
Follow all WHS procedures and permit requirements
Mentor junior team members when required
About You
Essential:
Current NSW Electrical Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical)
Current Australian Driver Licence
Experience in industrial or infrastructure electrical maintenance
Strong fault finding skills
Instrumentation and/or electronics experience
Able to work night shifts and participate in an on-call roster when required
Desirable
HV Switching experience
Cert IV Instrumentation
Cert IV Hazardous Areas (EEHA)
Confined Spaces
Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
MR Truck Licence
Experience maintaining industrial control systems, PLCs or SCADA equipment
Experience working in tunnels, mining, utilities, manufacturing or heavy industry
You must have valid Australian working rights.
