Geotechnical Testing Services (GTS) specialises in geotechnical and construction materials testing and engineering solutions.
Established in the ****s within the Bendigo School of Mines (later La Trobe University) and privately owned since ****, GTS operates a purpose-built facility in Bendigo plus soil laboratories at Echuca and Wallan, offering soil testing, construction materials testing and geotechnical consulting across Bendigo, Echuca, Wallan and surrounds.
Based in Victoria, our 30-plus specialists work with government, construction, residential and private clients on projects of every scale, delivering accurate results with fast turnaround.
We provide in office testing right across Victoria, backed by innovative software for maximum efficiency, along with consulting services tailored to each client's needs.
The team at GTS are supported by a national network of engineering, testing and drilling professionals, helping to shape the future of Australia's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Technician / Trainee Soil Technician at our Bendigo Laboratory, we will require you to:
Undertake both field and laboratory testing across a broad range of methods, including but not limited to Australian Standards




Complete laboratory testing at the required production level
Undertake training in test methods
Follow procedures directed by the Laboratory Manager
Prepare worksheets checking measurements and calculations of test results of other technicians
Maintain, clean and test equipment while keeping work area tidy
Liaise with internal staff and clients
About You:
You will be self-motivated, a fast learner and bring a positive attitude to the team.
We are ideally looking for technicians or trainees who possess:
Good knowledge of Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
The ability to work flexible hours and travel for work when required
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work
The ability to be a team player and work unsupervised
Previous experience as a Soil Technician will be highly regarded
Qualifications
Open, current driver's licence
Certificate 3 in Construction Materials Testing (preferable) or willing to obtain
Nuclear Gauge License (preferable) or willing to obtain
