Position Profile:As part of the South West Mental Health Services, provides full comprehensive mental state
assessments, with an urgent response, that includes a treatment
plan, short term support and counselling, to people resident in the
South West who are referred/present with acute distress /
psychiatric disturbance and/or self harm / suicidal
behaviour.
This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment
until 17/10/2027 with the possibility of extension(s) and/or
permanency.
Area Profile: The South West
is located in the southern-western corner of Australia and covers
an area of nearly 24,000 square kilometres.
It is Western
Australia's most popular tourist destination and has unique
biodiversity and a rich natural environment.
The Regional Health
Service offers two (2) main health facilities at Bunbury and
Busselton.
The Health Service is also widely supported with a
network of smaller hospitals and Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) sites
at: Augusta, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Collie, Donnybrook, Harvey,
Margaret River, Nannup, Northcliffe, Pemberton and
Warren.

Mandatory:
Relevant professional
qualifications and registration in Psychology, Occupational
Therapy, Social Work, or Nursing, with current registration or
eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional
body.
Suitability:
Demonstrated advanced clinical experience
in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, including expertise in
mental health assessment, triage, risk assessment, counselling,
crisis intervention, and the management of young people
presenting with acute mental health concerns in a community
setting.
Strong knowledge of community-based
health and support services, with the ability to develop
effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders,
build therapeutic relationships, and work collaboratively
within multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated,
recovery-oriented care for children, adolescents, and their
families.
Demonstrated leadership capability,
including the ability to provide clinical guidance and support
to colleagues, contribute to service development and quality
improvement initiatives, and work effectively within a large
and expanding service.
Proven ability to manage change, adapt
to evolving priorities, and maintain flexibility in a dynamic
clinical environment.
Advanced knowledge and application of the
Mental Health Act ****,



particularly as it relates to children
and young people under 18 years of age, with the ability to
apply legislative requirements, skilled standards, and
sound clinical judgement in complex situations.
