Glamorgan Spring Bay Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Planner to join our Planning and Development team on Tasmania's stunning East Coast.

About the role
As Principal Planner, you will:
Assess and report on planning and development applications
Provide professional planning advice to Council, developers and the community
Assist with complex planning matters and development proposals
Mentor and support planner staff
Contribute to process improvement and customer-focused outcomes
Attend Council meetings, workshops and appeal hearings as required
About you
You will bring:
Qualifications in town planning, urban development or similar
Strong statutory planning knowledge and experience




Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A collaborative and solutions-focused approach
The ability to balance legislative requirements with practical outcomes
A passion for positive workplace culture and continuous improvement
Local government experience is not essential.
What we offer
Competitive salary package: $76,370 – $101,848 (negotiable based on skills and experience)
Fully maintained vehicle with full private use
18.5% superannuation (you can opt to take the additional 6.5% super as salary)
