Find out more about CALHN sites and services, our stories and the opportunities to be part of CALHN About the Role Join a dedicated multidisciplinary mental health team where you'll deliver evidence-based occupational therapy that supports recovery, independence and community participation.
This role involves dedicated delivery of evidence-based occupational therapy specific assessments, consultation and interventions with the aim to enhance recovery orientated outcomes for consumers, their families and carers.
This might include sensory modulation, various assessments as clinically indicated (MOHO, cognitive assessment, functional assessment), and
or other therapeutic intervention including clinical rehabilitation approaches.
Additionally,



this role will be to support broader care needs of the consumer as part of their HITH admission and as an embedded part of the multidisciplinary team.
You will be provided with professional supervision, support from a Senior Occupational Therapist and orientation to the service and role.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver occupational therapy assessments and reports
Develop recovery-focused care and intervention plans
Coordinate care and support discharge pathways
Collaborate with consumers, carers and multidisciplinary teams
Build links with community, government and non-government services
Reduce barriers to discharge and community participation
Provide clinical supervision and support junior staff and students
Contribute to quality improvement and service planning
Maintain professional standards, knowledge and clinical practice
About You You're a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist who thrives in a recovery-focused mental health setting.
You bring strong clinical judgement, a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to helping consumers achieve meaningful outcomes.
Degree in Occupational Therapy with AHPRA registration
Experience in mental health assessment and intervention
Strong clinical judgement and care planning skills
Confident communicator who builds trusted relationships
Commitment to recovery focused, culturally safe practice
