Role Title: L2 Hardware Engineer - EO
Role Description:
The Hardware Engineer supports the Engineering Lead by providing design assurance and engineering oversight for system-level hardware across mission and support systems.




The role focuses on integration, verification and validation (V&V;), and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Commonwealth requirements within a complex, agile Defence environment.
Key responsibilities include contributing to technical architecture and specifications, supporting test planning and system integration, managing technical risks, and engaging with stakeholders across government and contractor organisations.
The position also involves supporting HF Radar programs, ensuring system performance requirements are met, and maintaining engineering standards, tools, and compliance practices.
Key Duties:
Provide design assurance for system-level hardware, including integration and V&V; activitiesSupport development, review, and agreement of technical specifications and lifecycle documentsContribute to system architecture and technical design to meet capability needsAssist in test planning, development of procedures, and execution supportEnsure system designs meet performance, safety, and security requirementsIdentify and manage technical risks, contributing to design reviews and program planningEngage and collaborate with stakeholders across Commonwealth, contractors, and partner organisationsSupport HF Radar program delivery, including verification of system performanceContribute to integrated engineering schedules and program coordinationMaintain compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
