You'll play a key role in installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing critical cooling systems for our clients throughout Townsville and surrounding regions.

About the Role




Your responsibilities will include:
Performing preventative maintenance to maximise system performance and reliability (school, hospital and a variety of commercial sites).
This is a key area of work at A-1.
Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and implementing effective solutions
Conducting inspections and providing detailed reports and recommendations
Responding to breakdowns and emergency call-outs efficiently
Maintaining accurate job records, including labour and materials
Working closely with team members and communicating professionally with clients
Staying up to date with industry developments and best practices
Ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, including refrigerant handling requirements
Mandatory (prior to commencement):
Trade qualification in Refrigeration
Current Arctic Licence
Current QBCC Licence
Current Blue Card (non-negotiable)
Valid Driver's Licence
Essential:
Experience with commercial air conditioning systems including, High-wall units, Cassettes, Split systems & Ducted systems
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to work autonomously and within a team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Strong customer focus and willingness to go the extra mile
Punctual and reliable
Professional presentation and grooming
Have own base range of tools suitable for day-to-day work
Willing to get any necessary vaccinations (required for some sites)
Be available for some away work (infrequent & typically 1 week at a time- no long stints away)
Be available for occasional Saturday work (infrequent and needs based)
