Job Description
Howard Porter Mechanical Engineering Technician Howard Porter Howard Porter was founded in Fremantle in **** and today is building quality transport equipment for the mining, resources, and transport industries.
The Company is greatly recognized throughout Australia for its historical achievements and builds and delivers a comprehensive range of quality transport equipment.
Howard Porter is currently seeking skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technicians to join a dynamic team in full time roles offered by the Company.
Applicants will install mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
Post installation, tests of mechanical systems and assembles are then required.
Other tasks may include: Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists Selecting tools and equipment Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems.
Estimating material quantities, and machine requirements Organising and inspection and maintenance of machines and plant Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
Successful applicants will likely have: Competence to prepare and/or read drawings including schematic drawings, Have good knowledge of hydraulics and general mechanics, heavy vehicles and/or automotive plant.




Good sense and ability in fault finding and solutions generation and implementation, Able to follow correct procedures & processes, Good working knowledge of OS&H; and Environmental practices Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Related or relevant associate degree, diploma or advance diploma, Related or relevant associate degree, diploma or advanced diploma, AQF Certificate III or equivalent or relevant experience, Minimum 3 years' experience.
Remuneration/Salary $75,000 to $85,000 per annum Remuneration will reflect current market conditions and industry award rates.
