As part of the federally funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme; compassionate, caring and friendly volunteers are needed to visit and provide social support with elderly residents in an aged care facilities and In own homes in the Riverina area.
It is purely about social interaction, connection and conversation so as to provide some joy and pleasure in the life of these residents.
A commitment of at least 1 visit a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so a rapport and trust can be developed between the volunteer and the resident.
The role is very versatile and no set time or day is needed, as long as a fortnightly visit can be met.
Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time in conversation, who are reliable, patient and compassionate, and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply.
