How does this Position contribute to our Community?
Provides a proactive, effective and efficient community service for the protection, promotion and improvement of Public and Environmental Health for the City of Port Lincoln community.
Provide the community a safe environment within animal control, fire prevention and parking
What does this Position do?
Provides efficient and effective support to the Environment and Community Safety team, including the preparation of searches, permits, expiations, notices and maintenance of registers.
Responsible for accurately maintaining the Councils Dogs and Cats Online database.
Key Objectives
Assist with providing efficient and effective support to the service delivery functions of the Workplace and Community Safety Services team
Assist with Developing and maintaining a positive and professional working environment at all times
Assist with the Development and implementation of effective communication
Assist with Providing administrative support including the use of well-developed skills in word processing, database applications and reporting programs
Assist with preparing and editing documents, undertaking data maintenance as required, including the preparation of material for presentations, mail outs, surveys, brochures etc.
Assist with administration of Dogs and Cats Online (DACO) database
Assist with processing of expiations
Assist with administration of fire prevention notices and expiations
Assist Community Safety Officers and Environmental Health Officers with records management
Assist with administration of searches
Assist with administration of environmental health registers
Assist with content creation for social media platforms
Successful completion of Cert IV in Local Government (Regulatory)
within the agreed upon time frame
Essential Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Sound communication and literacy skills
Ability to interpret Council by-laws and legislation
Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people while displaying a high level of personal integrity, ethics and maintaining confidentiality
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Proven ability in setting goals, monitoring progress, achieving results and meeting deadlines.
Willingness to undertake and complete of Cert IV in Local Government (Regulatory)
Key performance indicators
Maintain accurate register of dogs in DACO
Ensure legislative requirements are met for Expiations Issued
On-going progress of Cert III in Business at Tafe SA that is proportionate to the time frame allocated
