Position Purpose
The purpose of the Cleaner is to work collaboratively with all team members, making sure to understand and respond to the community, customers and stakeholder needs.
The key focus for the position will be fully responsible to monitor, clean and maintain all Peppercorn Services sites in accordance with each sites schedules as well as making sure stock levels are maintained.
Primary Objectives
The primary objective of the Cleaner is to:
• Undertake cleaning duties in accordance with schedules and provided work instructions in a safe manner
• Undertake duties such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, window cleaning, cleaning toilets, dusting, removing cobwebs, emptying bins etc
• Report site maintenance issues for the attention of Business Services or the relevant coordinator
• Monitor cleaning equipment and supplies, advising if stock requires ordering or attention.
• Ensure any safety concerns are identified and reported

• Ensure actions (or lack of) do not impact negatively on the health and safety of any fellow employee, client, public, contractor or visitor.
• Ensure incidents and hazards are identified, reported, controlled.
• Suggest work health and safety initiatives in area of control.
Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
• Actively participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of service quality to ensure standards are achieved.
• Actively participate in development of procedures relevant to area of work
• Suggest continuous improvement activities to improve the services provided.
• Ensure feedback, complaints, incidents and compliments are reported in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Where gaps are identified, suggest ways to improve activities.

• Ensure all interactions within the community portray Peppercorn as a professional and caring provider with a high standard of customer service.
Professional Development
• Attend regular supervision and annual performance reviews with direct line supervisor.
• Actively engage with professional development activities as approved or instructed by direct line supervisor.
• Participate in mandatory training and undertake professional development opportunities when presented.
• Engage in regular reflection of work practice and team relationships.
Cleaning
• Follow cleaning task schedule as per site cleaning plan or client support plan
• Ensure consistency and quality of service delivery as instructed and trained.
• Stocking of air fresheners, soap services, paper dispensers
• Mopping floors, cleaning toilets, cleaning windows, wipe surfaces, dusting and clean kitchen areas and appliances.
• Empty waste bins and place solo bins for collection
• Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order.
• Advise when an order of cleaning products and consumables is required to ensure adequate supply at all times
• Prompt escalation of any issues that are not within the scope, ability of your authority or change in needs of the customer to direct line supervisor.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
• Domestic or commercial cleaning experience.
• Understanding of safe work practices
• Ability to follow work instructions
• Ability to sensitively engage and communicate with people
• Demonstrated competence in accurate record keeping
• Current NSW Drivers Licence and vehicle with minimum third-party property insurance.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within the first three months of employment
• A National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Check must be completed and cleared before employment may commence and maintained throughout employment
This is a part-time permanent position, 19 hours per week.
