Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is seeking a skilledNRM Coordinatorto lead restoration and revegetation projects in Mossman and surrounding communities in Far North Queensland.
In this critical role, you will coordinate field and nursery staff delivering large-scale on-ground restoration work including mangrove rehabilitation, carbon credit pilots, and disaster recovery initiatives.
Reporting to the NRM Operations Manager, you will ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and comply with safety and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading workforce and resource planning across multiple restoration sites.
Supervising field rangers and nursery teams to implement revegetation and monitoring activities.
Supporting strategic project development, business planning, and tender preparation to grow the unit's capacity.
Managing budgets with accuracy alongside financial controls and CEO/CFO oversight.
Maintaining strong partnerships with Eastern Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners, government agencies, and project collaborators.
Ensuring compliance with legislation, funding agreements, and organisational policies.
Contributing to continuous improvement in operational processes and team capability.
About you:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Natural Resource Management or equivalent experience.
Solid background in land restoration, project management, and environmental sectors.
Experience working with Indigenous organisations or community groups is highly regarded.
Excellent communication skills with cultural sensitivity and commitment to community empowerment.
Open driver's licence and Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-site projects and lead diverse teams.
