Project Safety Manager | Major Earthworks Project | FIFO 2/1 Roster | 30% FIFO Uplift
Lead safety on one of Australia's largest civil infrastructure projects.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experiencedProject Safety Managerto join a major earthworks project and play a critical leadership role in delivering exceptional health and safety outcomes across a large-scale civil infrastructure project.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the project's safety function, partnering with operational teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and support the safe delivery of complex earthworks activities.

The Role
As the Project Safety Manager, you will:
Lead all project health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across site
Provide strategic safety leadership to project managers, engineers and supervisors
Develop, implement and continuously improve project safety systems and procedures
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and company standards
Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments
Coach and mentor leaders to build a proactive safety culture
Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance
Analyse safety data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with project teams to safely deliver major earthworks packages
About You
To be successful, you will have:
Significant experience in a senior safety leadership role within civil infrastructure or construction
Proven experience on large-scale earthworks, road, rail, mining or renewable energy projects
Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and risk management principles
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
Diploma or tertiary qualification in WHS (highly regarded)
Excellent leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience leading incident investigations and implementing preventative actions
The ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of a project
