About the Role
Veritas Education are working in partnership with an all-through specialist provision in Stockton on Tees to recruit a Behaviour & Learning Mentor for a long-term opportunity starting in September.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour across both primary and secondary age groups.
You will play a key role in helping students access education, regulate behaviour and build positive relationships within a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Support behaviour management strategies both in and out of the classroom
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to promote engagement
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Support students to develop emotional regulation and social skills
We welcome applications from candidates who are:
Experienced working with children or young people with behavioural needs
Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
Calm, resilient and able to manage challenging situations
Strong communicators who can build trust and rapport quickly
Ideal backgrounds include:
Teaching Assistant / SEN experience
Youth work, sports coaching or mentoring
Residential care / support work
Psychology graduates or those pursuing a career in education
