Hospital Medical Officer – Orthopaedic Surgery PRE SET
This is a 12-month Fixed term Full Time position commencing 01 February **** suitable for PGY3+ doctors holding current General Registration with AHPRA.

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities.
We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.
Unit Description
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of two level one trauma centres in Victoria and deals with large volumes of pelvic and acetabular fractures.
The Orthopaedic Department is the busiest Department in the Hospital and an integral part of a Level 1 Trauma Centre.
There are daily outpatient clinic, theatre lists and ward rounds.
There is a weekly academic meeting involving case presentations and discussion topics.
This is followed by a radiology review meeting.
The Orthopaedic Department is situated on the 7th Floor, with access to modern computers and the Internet.
A full departmental library is also provided with access to all current journals.
About The Role
This position provides prized surgical experience and patient management opportunities, ideal for candidates attempting to enter the surgical training program.
The position will be highly competitive, and the selection process will be rigorous.

About You
Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
Must be PGY3+
Ability to work in a team
Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
