Simmonds Steel is a growing steel fabrication company specializing in mild steel and rebar prefabrication.
We are are seeking an experiencedCage Machine Welderto join our workshop team.
Positions are available across both day and afternoon shifts:
Day Shift:5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Afternoon Shift:1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
You will be responsible for cage welding, working with machines and jigs, and leading a small workshop team to ensure production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
MIG welding of mild steel and reinforcing steel components.
Fabrication of rebar cages and reinforcement mesh.
Working with cage machines, jigs, and fabrication equipment.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Supporting and assisting other welders in the workshop.
Ensuring production targets and deadlines are met.
Maintaining quality control and safety standards.
Assisting with workflow coordination within the workshop.
General fabrication duties as required.
About You
Experience in cage welding / reinforcement steel fabrication.
Strong MIG welding skills.
Experience working with cage machines or fabrication jigs.
Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Reliable and able to work in a rapid-paced workshop environment.
