About the Role:
The Business Support Officer will contribute to the provision of
quality support services to the Minister's Office through the
efficient and effective handling of Ministerial correspondence
including, but not limited to, maintaining the integrity of records
management systems, and processing of incoming/outgoing
correspondence, as well as understanding and providing advice
relating to State Records requirements.
The role is also responsible for managing the reception area of
the office, including greeting visitors and answering the office's
main phone line.
The role provides general administrative support
to the Office Manager and across the Minister's Office to ensure
the efficient running of administrative/correspondence processes,
as well as liaising with members of the public, other ministerial
offices and the Minister's agencies.

Contract:
12 month contract
Essential Criteria:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel




and Outlook) and experience using electronic records management
systems.
Strong written communication skills, with demonstrated
ability to prepare, check and format documents with accuracy
and attention to detail.
Effective time management skills, including the ability to
prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and communicate
proactively where delays may occur.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, follow
established procedures, and ensure information integrity.
Demonstrated proficiency in providing administrative
support in a busy office environment, including support to
senior staff or management.
Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate
effectively and build positive working relationships across all
levels of an organisation.
Special Conditions:
May be required to participate in responses to state
emergencies or associated duties.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows
you to work in Australia without restrictions.
Prior to being employed, the successful candidate will be
required to provide a valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal
History Check (NCCHC), which is required to be renewed every
three years.




DEW will cover the cost of renewal.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Intrastate travel
may be required.
A successful applicant who is not currently employed by the
Department for Environment and Water will be required to have an
original photo identification document sighted and provide a
valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) issued
within the last 12 months.
Remuneration:
ASO3, $74,095 min - $78,694 max p.a.
