Position Descriptor:
Special Class Teacher (R-2, Years 3-6 (new in ****) and Years 7-9 (new in ****): Paralowie R-12 School is seeking three passionate and dedicated Special Class Teachers to join our inclusive education team in ****.
The positions across Reception-Year 2, Years 3-6 and Years 7-9 provide an exciting chance to support students with diverse learning needs through personalized, engaging and inclusive educational experiences.
Special Class Teachers will provide high-quality teaching and learning programs that respond to the individual strengths, needs and goals of students.
Working collaboratively with families, school support staff and leadership, successful applicants will create safe, supportive and engaging learning environments where students are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
There will be opportunities for permanency after the first year.
The successful applicants will demonstrate:
- Knowledge and experience in supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs.




- Ability to develop, implement and review personalised learning programs that respond to individual student needs.
- Experience adapting curriculum, learning activities and assessment approaches to support student access and achievement.
- Ability to create structured, supportive learning environments that promote student engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Strong skills in assessing, monitoring and documenting student progress.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, colleagues and external professionals to support student outcomes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education, student wellbeing and supporting every student to achieve success.
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute positively to a collaborative team.
