We are seekingtwo experienced Area Managersto support our Operations Manager and oversee the day-to-day performance of multiple properties.
We are recruiting for the following regions:
Area Manager – QLD North
Area Manager – QLD South & Central Queensland
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who enjoys leading people, improving operational performance, andtravelling regularly between a portfolio of motels within your allocated Queensland regionto support Motel Managers and their teams.
About the Role
Reporting directly to theOperations Manager, you will oversee a designated portfolio of Birch Hotel Group motels within eitherNorth QueenslandorSouth & Central Queensland.
This is a field-based role where you willregularly travel between your allocated motels, providing on-site leadership, coaching and operational support to ensure each property consistently delivers exceptional guest experiences and achieves operational and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Travel regularly between your allocated motel portfolio across your designated Queensland region.
Provide leadership, coaching and operational support to Motel Managers across multiple properties.
Monitor daily operations to ensure consistent service standards and compliance.
Drive guest satisfaction and resolve complex customer concerns.
Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and other key performance indicators.
Assist with budgeting, cost control and financial performance.




Ensure housekeeping standards and room quality are maintained.
Coordinate maintenance requirements to ensure properties remain safe and well presented.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of motel teams.
Assist managers with rostering and workforce planning.
Monitor OTA performance including Booking.com and Expedia.
Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) requirements and company policies.
Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational efficiencies.
Provide additional operational support at properties when required.
About You
You are a motivated hospitality leader who enjoys mentoring teams while maintaining a strong commercial focus.
To be successful you will have:
Previous experience managing motel or hotel operations across one or multiple properties.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience supporting and developing managers and frontline teams.
Excellent knowledge of front office operations, reservations and guest services.
Strong understanding of housekeeping operations and presentation standards.
Experience coordinating maintenance and property upkeep.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.




Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
Experience monitoring operational performance and KPIs.
Knowledge of OTA platforms including Booking.com and Expedia.
Experience using Property Management Systems (RMS experience highly regarded).
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail with a proactive and hands-on approach.
Current Australian Driver's Licence and the ability and willingness to travel extensively between your allocated motel portfolio throughout Queensland.
Highly Regarded
Multi-site motel or hotel management experience.
Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
Recruitment, training and performance management experience.
Experience implementing operational improvements and new systems.
