Revere Projects is a Townsville-based environmental, engineering and project management consultancy delivering practical infrastructure, land-management and environmental outcomes across Queensland.
Our projects span civil infrastructure, earthworks, stormwater drainage, subdivision support, water and sewer services, erosion and sediment control, rehabilitation, environmental works and local-government project delivery.
We are a small, capable team where designers are closely involved in projects from investigation and concept development through to documentation, procurement, construction support and completion.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experiencedCivil CAD Operator / Civil Designerto take a central role in preparing transparent, accurate and construction-ready civil design documentation.
This is not a production-line drafting role.
You will work directly with project managers, engineers, surveyors, contractors and clients to turn site information, concepts and technical requirements into practical designs and well-presented drawing packages.
The role suits a capable all-rounder with strong CAD and civil-design skills, practical construction awareness and the ability to contribute to technical investigations, reports, scopes, cost estimates and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare civil design drawings, plans, details, sections, schedules and quantities for project delivery.
Develop earthworks, grading, roadworks, access, stormwater drainage, water, sewer and subdivision design documentation.
Prepare concept, detailed design, tender and construction drawing packages.
Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12d, CivilCAD and GIS software to prepare drawings, models, mapping and supporting project information.
Interpret survey information, services records, aerial imagery, site data and client requirements.
Assist with site investigations, inspections, constructability reviews and as-constructed documentation.
Prepare drainage layouts, pit and pipe schedules, longitudinal sections, cross-sections, earthworks plans and erosion and sediment control drawings.
Support preparation of technical reports, design notes, feasibility assessments, scopes of work, tender documentation and client presentations.
Assist with project planning, procurement, contractor coordination, cost estimates and progress reporting.
Liaise professionally with clients, local government, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
Attend project sites as required to support investigations, construction delivery and quality assurance.
About You
You will be a practical civil designer who enjoys being involved in the full project process, not only drafting in isolation.
You will be confident taking responsibility for drawing quality, coordinating information from multiple disciplines and clearly documenting design intent.
Essential Requirements
Diploma, Advanced Diploma or degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, Engineering Drafting or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in civil drafting and design, ideally at least five years.
Strong capability in AutoCAD and civil design software such as Civil 3D, 12d or CivilCAD.
Experience preparing coordinated drawing packages for earthworks, roads, drainage, stormwater, water,
sewer or subdivision works.
Ability to interpret survey data, services information and site conditions.
Strong attention to detail, drawing presentation and document control.
Ability to prepare clear written technical documentation, including design notes, investigation summaries, scopes and reports.
Practical understanding of construction methods, sequencing and buildability.
Ability to communicate clearly in project meetings and with clients, contractors and consultants.
Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to attend regional project sites.
Desirable Experience
Local government infrastructure or development experience.
Stormwater drainage design, flood assessment support or hydrologic / hydraulic modelling exposure.
Water and sewer reticulation design.
Erosion and sediment control, rehabilitation, environmental or land-management project experience.
GIS capability using QGIS, ArcGIS or similar software.
Experience with quantity take-offs, cost estimating, tender documentation and contractor procurement.
Site supervision, construction support or quality-assurance experience.
Knowledge of Queensland civil design standards, local-government specifications and approval processes.
