About the role
We are seeking aBroiler Farm Assistant Managerto join our team on afull-time basisat our facility inMonarto, SA ****.
This is a strategic position within our farm management structure, supporting the day-to-day operations and contributing to the overall success of our broiler production facility.
As Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient farm operations, maintaining biosecurity standards, and supporting the supervision of farm staff to achieve our production targets and animal welfare objectives.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the day-to-day management and supervision of all broiler farm operations and staff
Monitor flock health, welfare and performance, reporting any concerns to the Farm Manager
Oversee feed management, water systems and environmental controls within broiler houses
Implement and maintain rigorous biosecurity protocols and hygiene standards across the facility
Conduct regular inspections of equipment, infrastructure and facilities to ensure optimal condition
Support the planning and coordination of farm activities including bird placement, rearing cycles and harvesting
Assist with staff training, induction and development in farm procedures and safety protocols
Maintain accurate records of farm operations, flock performance and health treatments
Respond to emergencies and resolve operational issues in a timely manner
Support compliance with all relevant animal welfare,



environmental and agricultural regulations
Prepare bedding and equipment for shed placement and cleanout cycles
Operate and maintain general farm machinery, including rotary hoe, straw chopper, pumps and cool cells
Perform general farming and property maintenance activities such as fencing, mowing and groundskeeping
What we're looking for
Proven experience working in poultry production or intensive livestock farming environments would be an advantage, but not a necessity
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate farm staff effectively
Sound understanding of animal welfare standards and legislative requirements and biosecurity principles
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
High level of physical fitness and willingness to undertake manual farm work
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities
Valid driver's licence and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays as required
Relevant qualifications in agriculture, farm management or animal husbandry are highly valued
Experience with farm management systems and computer literacy are advantageous
