About the Role
We are a nationally focused specialty chemical formulation and manufacturing company.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager of Operations to oversee the manufacturing, maintenance, purchasing and warehousing operations for our Dominant, Bell and Cafetto brands.
This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across production, supply chain, logistics and warehousing to ensure efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
The General Manager of Operations will lead and ensure seamless collaboration between manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain and distribution functions to support our business growth and with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement operational strategies to optimise efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing and warehousing.
Align operational processes with business objectives to support company growth and market demands.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, lean manufacturing and sustainability programs.
Manufacturing & Production Management
Oversee factory operations, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Work closely with the Operations team to drive improvements in production efficiency, waste reduction and overall performance.
Design and oversee recent manufacturing facilities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements in manufacturing processes.
Warehousing & Logistics Oversight
Supervise the Logistics & Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth warehousing,



inventory control and distribution operations.
Optimise supply chain efficiency, including raw material procurement, storage and outbound logistics.
Implement best practices for warehouse management, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely deliveries.
Supply Chain Management & Procurement
Oversee the procurement of raw materials and packaging, ensuring reliable supply, cost control and quality compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to achieve the best value for the business.
Identify opportunities for supply chain optimisation, including alternative sourcing strategies and supplier diversification.
Work closely with R&D; and production teams to ensure that raw materials and packaging meet product development and quality standards.
Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply and responsiveness to market fluctuations.
People & Leadership
Lead, mentor and develop the Operations team fostering a high-performance culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D;, sales and finance, to ensure operational alignment with business needs.
Build a robust safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Financial & Performance Management
Develop and manage budgets for operations,



maintenance, logistics and procurement, ensuring cost control and efficiency improvements.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive data-driven decision-making for operational enhancements.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and service levels.
Key Requirements
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations and supply chain management with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Solid understanding of procurement, supplier management, and cost negotiation for raw materials and packaging.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Robust financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control experience.
Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
