Lucky Star Bistro – Gulgong Bowling & Sporting Club
Lucky Star Bistro is a busy Chinese and Asian restaurant located inside Gulgong Bowling & Sporting Club.
We serve a wide range of Chinese cuisine, à la carte meals, takeaway, buffets, banquets and catering for special events.
We are looking for an experienced Full-Time Chef to join our growing kitchen team.
About the Role
As our Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality Chinese cuisine while assisting in the day-to-day operation of our busy commercial kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality Chinese dishes in a timely manner
Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
Assist in menu planning and the development of new dishes
Supervise and support kitchen staff
Monitor food preparation, portion control and minimise food wastage
Order, receive and manage kitchen stock and ingredients
Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP and WHS requirements
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
Work efficiently during busy service periods




Assist with buffet, banquet and catering functions
Essential Requirements
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management or equivalent qualification (preferred)
Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
Experience preparing authentic Chinese cuisine
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and time management skills
Valuable communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of Australian Food Safety and WHS standards
