About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing engineering and machining business is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join its workshop team.
Servicing a range of heavy industries including mining, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, and industrial operations, this role offers a stable long-term opportunity within a busy and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will be a trade-qualified Machinist with strong manual machining skills and exposure to CNC equipment.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual and CNC machinery, including lathes and milling machines
Manufacture precision-engineered components to specification
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments as required
Conduct quality inspections and maintain production records
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and workplace safety standards
Work collaboratively within a team-focused workshop environment
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role,
you will possess:
Trade qualification in Fitting & Machining or equivalent
Experience operating manual machining equipment, including lathes and mills
CNC machining experience highly regarded
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Robust attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Sound problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of quality assurance processes and manufacturing standards
