About the Role:
Medirecruit is currently seeking an experienced Consultant Physician in General Medicine to join a leading tertiary health service in Wollongong, NSW.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and high-performing medical department within a major referral hospital, providing comprehensive acute and inpatient medical care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will work within a collaborative General Medicine team responsible for the assessment and management of complex medical presentations across the hospital.
Acute inpatient general medical care
Management of complex multi-system disease presentations
Participation in acute medical take and on-call services
Involvement in multidisciplinary ward rounds and case conferences
Contribution to clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development
Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and trainees
This role offers strong clinical variety within a supportive tertiary setting with excellent subspecialty access.

About You:




Fellowship or equivalent specialist qualification in General Medicine or Internal Medicine
Broad experience managing acute and complex medical patients
Strong clinical decision-making and leadership skills
Commitment to teaching, training, and multidisciplinary care
Eligibility for specialist registration in Australia (or ability to obtain)
