About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and driven Accountant to join our finance team in a newly created role.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance & Strategy, you will be the right-hand person in the finance function — leading our month-end and year-end processes, driving reporting and compliance, and playing a key role in strengthening financial management practices across the organisation.This is a hands-on role that combines financial accounting, management accounting, and financial controllership.
You will be equally comfortable preparing journals and reconciliations as you are presenting financial insights to operational leaders.
With a strong focus on systems knowledge and adaptability, you will help drive continuous improvement in how we work.You will have one direct report — a Finance Officer — and work collaboratively across the organisation to embed sound financial management practices.
What You'll Be DoingLeading month-end and year-end close processes — journals, reconciliations, accruals,



and adjustmentsPreparing management reports with insightful variance analysis and commentary for the executive team and BoardCompiling annual budgets in collaboration with senior management and operational leadersEnsuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, GAAP, and all statutory obligationsOverseeing BAS, GST reconciliations, and FBT reportingDriving continuous improvement in financial systems and processes — we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralSupporting operational managers to build financial literacy across the organisationMaintaining and strengthening internal financial controls, policies, and proceduresSupervising and mentoring the Finance OfficerContributing to strategic projects and initiatives alongside the Head of Finance & Strategy
About YouYou are a hands-on, technically strong accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment.
You are not just comfortable with numbers — you understand how to use systems and technology to drive better outcomes, and you can translate financial data into insights that non-financial people can understand and act on.

You will bring:Professional accounting body membership (CPA or CA), or actively studying and nearing completionMinimum 3 years' experience in a financial accounting, management accounting, or similar roleDemonstrated experience leading month-end close processesStrong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and GAAPProven ability in budgeting, variance analysis, and management reportingStrong systems knowledge with experience using finance and corporate information systems — an interest in developing these capabilities further is keyAdvanced Excel skillsExcellent communication skills — both written and verbalHigh attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
