Applications are invited for appointment as a Visiting Medical Officer in Diagnostic Radiology at BreastScreen NSW for the quinquennium period: 1 July **** to 30 June ****.
An eligibility list may be created for vacancies on an ongoing basis following this advertisement.
This role is to provide best practice breast imaging, screen reading and interventional services for women attending the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra BreastScreening service.
BreastScreen Radiologists are required to have the relevant qualifications including the appropriate fellowship of RANZCR to enable them to read and report on images, to undertake Assessment Clinics, including Core Biopsies, Ultrasounds and review of relevant Tomosynthesis images.
All screen readers and assessment clinic Radiologists will be subject to review by the Designated Radiologist, based on clinical audit as detailed in the BreastScreen National Accreditation Standards.
Responsibilities
Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
Conduct breast imaging, screen reading, and interventional procedures.
Participate in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff across multiple sites.
Qualifications and experience
Registration or eligibility for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA); provide AHPRA registration number.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent, with subspecialty training in Breast Mammography before July ****.
Evidence of continuing medical education and audit practices consistent with scope of practice.
Experience in high quality breast imaging and screen reading in a suitable clinical environment.
Commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students or staff.
Professional behaviour and senior medical practitioner skills.
Experience in research relevant to the role.
