We are seeking two experienced and customer-focusedPayroll Officers (ASO2)to join a large government shared services payroll team based in Adelaide CBD.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your payroll expertise within a high-volume, fast-paced environment while supporting payroll services for a range of government agencies.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operational Team Leader, you will be part of a dedicated payroll team responsible for processing timesheets and payroll transactions for a large and diverse workforce.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll information while providing high-quality customer service to employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll transactions and pay-related files accurately and within required deadlines
Perform data entry and maintenance of employee payroll records
Process timesheets, leave applications and payroll-related forms
Assist with overtime, penalty and allowance processing
Respond to payroll enquiries via phone and email
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and complex pay queries
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with payroll procedures
Work collaboratively to achieve team targets and service delivery outcomes
Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Previous experience in a customer service or call centre environment
Robust data entry skills with a high level of speed and accuracy (minimum 40 wpm)
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage high work volumes
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
Proven ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
A reliable and professional approach to work
Desirable Experience
Payroll experience
Experience using Chris21 payroll systems
Previous experience in a large payroll or shared services environment
Government sector experience
Mandatory Requirements
Current National Police Clearance (issued within 12 months)
Full working rights in Australia
Availability to commence on27 July ****
