About the Business
My client is a well-established steel company supplying the construction and trade sectors.
They have built their reputation on quality products, reliable service and delivering for their customers every day.
With continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Despatch Manager to take ownership of a busy warehouse and despatch operation.
This is an prospect to join a stable business where you'll have the autonomy to lead your team, improve processes and play an important role in the day-to-day success of the operation.
The Role
As the Despatch Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the warehouse and despatch function operates safely, efficiently and on schedule.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate the movement of goods, manage warehouse staff, work closely with production and customer service teams, and ensure every order leaves the site accurately and on time.
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front, can keep operations running smoothly under pressure and takes pride in building a strong, accountable team.
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and despatch department.
Supervise, train and support warehouse and despatch employees.
Coordinate daily pick, pack and despatch activities.
Schedule deliveries and liaise with freight companies and transport providers.
Work closely with production to ensure customer orders are completed and dispatched on time.
Maintain accurate inventory and stock movements.




Drive safe work practices and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
Manage warehouse equipment, housekeeping and general site presentation.
Resolve operational issues quickly while maintaining a high level of customer service.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Despatch Manager, Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.
Experience within manufacturing, steel, building materials, industrial products or a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate and hold a team accountable.
Sound understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control and transport coordination.
Experience working with warehouse management or ERP systems.
Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
A strong commitment to workplace safety.
Forklift licence highly regarded.
Salary and Benefits
Base $100k - $110k + Super 12%
