Maxima has been engaged to recruit a Facilities and Grounds Assistant for a Northeastern suburb's client.
About the Role
This role is newly created and is initially a 12-month contract with potential to further work past that date should the requirement still remain.
Working hours of work will be 8:00 am – 4:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, whilst Tuesday hours will be 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.
TheFacilities & Grounds Assistantis responsible for ensuring offices, and other recreation and function facilities are safe and presentes as clean and welcoming for all users.
Duries include:
Performing minor building repairs
Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of buildings and grounds
Work cooperatively within the team to support the seamless day-to-day operation of the facilities.
Support set up and pack down for functions
IT / AV set up and support (basic setup of audiovisual equipment – projectors, microphones) and PA Systems)
About You




You have experience in Facilities and Grounds Maintenance and can follow safe work practices in public spaces.
Your other skill, knowledge, abilities and certificates include:
The ability to perform frequent physical activity and prolonged standing.
Experience in caretaking, venue setup, or general maintenance
Basic administration / computer skills
Eye for detail / compliance focus
Experience in the protected operation of small machinery, plant equipment and hand/power tools.
Basic computer and mobile device skills to assist with work management systems and record keeping.
Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and procedures relevant to arboriculture operations.
A Certificate in Horticulture (II or III) would be highly regarded along with a Chainsaw Competency Ticket
