About the role
We're looking for a friendly, organised and professionalLaboratory Managerto join our team.
This is a dedicated laboratory leadership role, managing a small team that supports the entire winery through accurate, timely and consistent analysis across all aspects of winery operations.
We're seeking someone who enjoys balancing hands-on laboratory work with team leadership, process improvement and quality assurance.
The ideal candidate takes initiative, has solid organisational skills, and is committed to fostering a collaborative and positive team environment while continually improving laboratory systems and procedures.

What you'll be doing
Managing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure accurate, timely and consistent analytical results.
Leading and supporting a small laboratory team (one team member outside of vintage, expanding to two to three during vintage).
Working closely with the winemaking team to support production through laboratory analysis and wine trials.
Maintaining laboratory records, documentation and quality systems to meet audit and compliance standards.
Overseeing laboratory equipment, consumables, calibration and general laboratory management.
Contributing as an active member of the site's HACCP team, supporting food safety and quality objectives.
Driving continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing laboratory systems, processes and procedures.
Participating as an active member of the site management team, contributing to operational planning and business improvement initiatives.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
Holds tertiary qualifications in Laboratory Science or a related discipline.
Has at least 3 years' laboratory experience.
Enjoys leading by example and is comfortable undertaking hands-on laboratory work alongside the team.
Has previous winery laboratory experience (preferred but not essential).
Is highly organised, reliable and has excellent attention to detail.
Has strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive, collaborative approach.
Thrives in a varied, fast-paced environment and can effectively manage competing priorities.
Takes initiative and is committed to maintaining high standards while continuously improving processes.
