The Spirituality Ministry is seeking an energetic and organisedCentre Hostto lead the day-to-day operations of the Mary MacKillop Precinct in Kensington.
This unique role combines hospitality, customer service, administration, event coordination, community engagement and team leadership within a purpose-driven environment.
This position would suit someone with experience inhospitality management, hotel operations, front-of-house leadership, guest services, education administration, school leadership support, retreat coordination or community engagementwho enjoys working with people and creating exceptional visitor experiences.
About the Role
As Centre Host, you will be the welcoming face of the Centre, coordinating bookings, conferences, retreats, school visits and community events while leading a small team of staff and volunteers.
You will help create an atmosphere of warmth, hospitality and connection for all visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing bookings for conferences, retreats, education programs and events.
Providing exceptional customer service to guests, visitors and stakeholders.
Coordinating the setup and delivery of conferences, meetings and events.
Building strong relationships with schools, community groups and other stakeholders.
Supporting local marketing, promotions and outreach activities.
Supervising staff, volunteers and contractors.




Maintaining accurate records, reporting and administrative processes.
Ensuring compliance with workplace safety and safeguarding requirements.
Working closely with leadership to grow Centre utilisation and community engagement.

Hotel, resort or hospitality management.
Conference and events coordination.
Front office, guest services or venue operations.
School administration, teaching or educational program delivery.

Sales, marketing or relationship management.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven administration and organisational skills.
Experience using Microsoft 365 and business systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.




High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people.
Confidence coordinating events and supporting ICT requirements for meetings and presentations.
Highly Regarded
Experience leading front-of-house or hospitality teams.
Experience in Catholic or independent school environments.
Experience planning retreats, excursions, camps or formation programs.
Knowledge of conference, accommodation or venue booking systems (particularly RMS Cloud).
Experience working in community, not-for-profit or mission-based organisations.
Familiarity with faith-based organisations, parishes or community groups.
