Western Adelaide Private Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Casual Clinical Coder to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our clinical data, supporting Activity Based Funding (ABF) and improving patient documentation.

About the Role
As theClinical Coder, you will be responsible for the accurate, timely and complete coding of inpatient episodes usingICD-10-AM (Version 13), ACHI and Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
More than just coding, you'll be recognised as a highly valued resource within the department—providing expert advice on complex coding matters, supporting quality improvement initiatives, assisting coding staff and working collaboratively with clinicians to improve clinical documentation.
Your expertise will directly contribute to:
Accurate Activity Based Funding (ABF)
High-quality organisational reporting
Benchmarking and research
Data integrity and statutory reporting
Continuous improvement in clinical documentation

Essential Requirements
Recognised qualification in Clinical Coding, Health Information Management or equivalent, with completion of accredited Clinical Coding education.
Demonstrated clinical coding experience within a hospital and extensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM (Version 13), ACHI and Australian Coding Standards.
Strong understanding of Activity Based Funding (ABF), clinical documentation requirements and the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficient in computer applications, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
