This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians providing advanced dental surgery underIV sedation and Local anesthetic at our neighboring facility, Burnside Day Surgery.
About the Role
This diverse role will see you working across our modern dental practice and assisting with surgical procedures at Burnside Day Surgery.
You will play a vital role in ensuring every surgical session runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest clinical standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Scrubbing for oral surgery, dental implant, general dental under IV sedation and local anesthetic procedure.
Preparing and organising the surgical theatre before each list.
Assisting the dentist and anesthetist during IV sedation procedures.
Providing chairside dental assisting
Maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention, sterilisation and clinical compliance.
Coordinating theatre workflow and ensuring all equipment and instruments are prepared ahead of each procedure.
Managing theatre turnover and ensuring the surgical environment is always procedure-ready.
Delivering exceptional patient care before, during and after treatment.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Scrub nurse experience.
Qualified Dental Assistant with scrub experience (advantage)
Is exceptionally organised with outstanding attention to detail.
Works calmly under pressure and can anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Is passionate about delivering outstanding patient experiences.
Is flexible and enjoys working across both theatre and dental clinical environments.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The following qualifications or experience would be highly regarded:
Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting.
Qualified Theater Nurse
CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) Technician experience or qualifications.
Experience assisting with dental implant procedures and implant workflows.
Experience with IV sedation or day surgery procedures.
Current CPR certification (essential) and additional emergency response training.
Knowledge of dental software and digital imaging systems.
