Arceye Engineering is a growing engineering and fabrication company specialising in heavy fabrication, machining, site maintenance, installations, shutdowns, hydraulic repairs and crane truck services.
We are looking for an experiencedWorkshop Managerwho can take ownership of our workshop operations and help build the next stage of our business.
This is not a desk job.
We are looking for a leader who enjoys being on the workshop floor, solving problems, supporting tradespeople and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our workshop and workforce.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supervising all workshop personnel.
Managing daily workflow, scheduling and labour allocation.
Building and maintaining a skilled workforce to meet current and future workloads.
Recruiting, onboarding, mentoring and, where required, managing employee performance and disciplinary matters.
Working closely with our design and drafting team to ensure projects are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Assisting with workshop layout, workflow improvements and continuous process optimisation.
Developing, implementing and maintaining workshop policies, procedures and quality systems.
Driving a strong safety culture while maintaining high productivity.
Ensuring fabrication, machining and mechanical work is completed to a high standard and on schedule.
Coordinating workshop resources, equipment and materials.
Overseeing transport logistics and crane truck operations.
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and profitability.
Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop.
About You
To be successful you will have:




Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or in a senior workshop leadership position.
Strong knowledge of fabrication and boilermaking welding processes and quality standards.
Solid understanding of manual and CNC machining.
Mechanical fitting experience or a strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience managing transport logistics and crane truck operations.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Experience implementing and maintaining workshop systems, procedures and processes.
The ability to confidently communicate with engineers, designers, draftspeople, customers and tradespeople.
Strong computer skills and experience using job management systems.
A current driver's licence.
