About the role
Banjo's Bakery Cafe is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicatedApprentice Bakerto join our baking team on a full-time basis at our Idalia, QLD location.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in the baking industry, working alongside experienced bakers who will mentor and guide you through your apprenticeship.
As an Apprentice Baker, you will learn the fundamentals of bread making, pastry production, and bakery operations whilst gaining the practical skills and knowledge essential to becoming a qualified baker.
This role offers the perfect balance of hands-on training and formal apprenticeship education.
Key responsibilities
Assisting with the preparation and mixing of dough using both traditional and modern baking techniques
Learning to shape, mould and prepare bread, rolls, pastries and other baked goods for baking
Operating baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and proof boxes, under supervision
Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products meet quality standards
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the bakery and work stations in accordance with food safety regulations
Assisting with stock rotation and inventory management
Receiving instruction and feedback from experienced bakers and applying guidance to improve techniques
Supporting the bakery team with general duties as required
Developing knowledge of ingredients, flavours and traditional baking methods
What we're looking for
A genuine passion for baking and the food industry
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work safely in a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Physical fitness and capability to perform tasks that may include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying heavy items
Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic




Willingness to learn and openness to feedback from experienced staff
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Be willing to start as early as 3am
Current year 10 or equivalent educational qualification preferred
A valid Australian driver's licence is advantageous
