About the Role
We have an opportunity available for a Maintenance Officer to join our team in Townsville.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will develop your administrative skills whilst providing great exposure to a multi-faceted heavy industry business.
This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all stock movements and purchasing activities, processing of Accounts Payable duties and general administrative tasks.
Some of the main job duties will include, but are not limited to:
Accurately code accounts for payment in a timely manner.
Update and maintain Equipment Maintenance Registers and effective record management systems.
Facilitate all purchasing activities including creation of new creditors, purchase order approvals, liaison with requisitioners, coordination with suppliers, handling delivery dockets to verify delivery of goods and services, verification and payment of approved invoices.
Identify and implement improved stock control strategies to assist in reducing inefficient/ineffective expenditure and ensuring compliance in line with policies.




Carry out general office procedures including dealing with general enquiries and referral of incoming correspondence.
Prepare monthly reports and documentation.
Collate payroll related information and supply to the Financial Accountant.
Conduct end of month credit card reconciliations.
Provide general administrative support to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintain and issue Petty Cash.
About You
Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
Current drivers' licence;
A Cert III in Business and/or experience and working knowledge in similar position;
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft office applications and computerized accounting packages;
The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy on preparing and entering financial information;
Sound knowledge of purchasing procedures;
Demonstrated experience in stock control and master data maintenance;
An ability to work autonomously, exercise initiative and maturity whilst effectively working in a team environment;
Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills; and
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
