Tecside are seeking an experiencedDraftspersonto join our client's team, a specialist engineering design and project services consultancy.
They deliver innovative solutions across the steel, mining, quarry, cement, materials handling, alumina and defence support sectors.
About the Role
As a Draftsperson, you'll be an integral member of their Design Services team, producing high-quality engineering models and drawings that support the successful delivery of projects across a range of heavy industries.
Working closely with engineers and designers, you'll develop accurate design documentation while contributing to innovative engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate 3D models using industry-standard CAD software.
Produce detailed 2D manufacturing and construction drawings.
Prepare general arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings.
Assist engineers with design calculations and technical documentation.
Ensure drawings comply with Australian Standards, project specifications and company procedures.
Maintain a high level of drawing accuracy, quality and document control.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
Participate in design reviews and contribute throughout all phases of project delivery.
About You
You are a detail-oriented Draftsperson who enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in producing quality engineering documentation.
You work well in a collaborative setting and are committed to delivering excellent outcomes.
You'll also bring:
Diploma in Drafting (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical drafting or design.
Experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate engineering concepts into practical designs.
Knowledge of Australian drafting and design standards.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and document control practices.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Desirable:
Baseline Defence Clearance or NV1 Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one).
