The Opportunity
St Joseph's School Hectorville is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Officer to join our dynamic team, predominantly working in Upper Primary classes.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teachers and fostering a positive learning setting for students in their final years of primary school.
If you are passionate about education, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with students in Year 4 - 6, we encourage you to apply.
The permanent hours offered are:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday (Friday is mandatory & other days can be negotiated)
9:00am – 3:00pm
16.5 hours per week during 40 school term weeks
Some additional hours may be offered from time to time, depending on need and availability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to teachers in delivering lessons, including preparing materials, managing classroom activities, and assisting students as needed.
Support a safe, orderly, and successful learning environment through the implementation of behavioural management strategies.
About You
Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent
Experience supporting student learning and participation in a school or educational setting




Ability to support learning and engagement for students through individual and small-group approaches
Ability to adapt support to students' diverse learning, communication, sensory and wellbeing needs
Commitment to enabling students to access learning, build on their strengths, and participate meaningfully in the school community
Understanding of inclusive and strengths-based practices that promote student belonging
