Associate Project Manager
Provides leadership of a non‐complex project (or sub‐project) involving internal and/or external stakeholders.
Responsible for day‐to‐day management of the assigned team and for the outcome of the assigned scope, including cost, schedule, quality, customer satisfaction and any other objectives defined in the Contract/Project Directive.
Responsibilities
Definition, management and ownership of the assigned scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes.
Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the team as required.
Develop approach for the assigned scope to achieve outcomes as per the Contract/Project Directive, including identification of opportunities to maximise outcomes.
Prepare, monitor and revise plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the scope of work to meet the objectives set by the Contract/Project Directive.
Assess risk related to the assigned scope.
Lead and present status at Steering Committee meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress meetings.
Manage contract variations and scope changes as required.
Develop and maintain knowledge of the solution.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.
Comply with legislation and company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non‐discrimination, safety and duty of care and the management system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or a business discipline.
Experience meeting the required competency level as per the position.
Experience in the leadership of systems projects.




Demonstrated understanding of the lifecycle of system development projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and foster cooperation.
Proven ability in internal and external customer liaison.
Experience producing and reviewing project documentation.
Demonstrated scheduling and planning skills.
Experience in Cost Schedule System Reporting (CSSR) or a related Earned Value Management system.
Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level.
Eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR, may be verified through past and present nationality and citizenship information.
