Position Purpose
The General Practitioner will provide comprehensive, continuous and coordinated primary healthcare services to individuals, families and the wider community.
The role includes the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of acute and chronic medical conditions while promoting preventative healthcare and patient wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages.
Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
Develop and implement GP Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements where appropriate.
Provide preventative healthcare, health education and screening services.
Manage referrals to hospitals,



specialists and allied health providers.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
Participate in multidisciplinary care and quality improvement activities.
Undertake minor procedures where appropriately trained and credentialed (desirable).
Essential Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum three (3) years' post-graduate clinical medical experience.
Demonstrated clinical competence in the assessment and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
Ability to identify and manage critically ill patients and facilitate timely referral to hospital or specialist services where required.
Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system, including primary care delivery, chronic disease management, preventative health and care coordination.
Experience in managing patients across a broad range of presentations, including paediatrics, women's health, and chronic disease management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient-centred care skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Desirable
Fellowship of RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent specialist general practice qualification.
Experience performing minor procedures.
Experience using Australian general practice clinical software systems.
