Palliative Care Tasmania is a not for profit organisation striving to ensure that all Tasmanians experience quality palliative and end of life care in a compassionate community.
As the sector's peak body we work collaboratively with our members and communities statewide to in aiming to ensure all Tasmanians have equitable access to timely care and support based on their individual needs and wishes.
How You Can Make a Difference?
As a key member of our small team, the Corporate Support and Operations Coordinator is pivotal to ensuring we best support the sector and community, by helping to keep all core business functions not only running well, but humming at a high level.
You will be a solid and central core to the work of our team (including the Board and its committees), but also a friendly and compassionate soul, supporting the sector and our community with whom we work closely.
What's The Role Like?
While attention to detail across all the usual areas (admin, finance, HR, ICT, Board support, asset management and compliance) is an absolute fundamental for this role, you will also be a people person and able to connect with empathy and understanding.
You might be busy compiling financial reports,



preparing policies and writing Board papers in one moment, then in the next you might be interacting gently with someone that is reaching out in a circumstance that finds them encountering the challenges associated with palliative care, including end of life.
Your role in that situation is to simply be a listening and understanding ear, sensitively guiding along to the best connection point in the palliative care ecosystem.
You don't need previous experience in a clinical workplace as part of your background (although that might help!), but you'll be comfortable in easing from an office-based mindset to then receive and interact more personally with a caller.
You enjoy being responsive to others.
What We're Seeking
Demonstrated experience in a busy office environment, bringing skills inallthe typical corporate support areas.
You thrive on a pace that offers a good balance - being busy, but not overloaded.
A contemporary approach to coordination of core operational activity too - you're across key systems, standards and processes.

A love of good governance - what's not to love about compliance when you can take pride in bringing it to the next level?
A well-developed sense of compassion and a desire to see the Tasmanian community more aware of how we can better support each other, while advocating for a sector that is better equipped to respond to growing challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,



with proven success in building mutually beneficial successful and collaborative relationships.
Experience in a member-based organisation would be ideal!
