About the role
As Head Sonographer, you will play a key leadership role in delivering a high-quality, patient-centred ultrasound service across Flinders Medical Centre.
Working with a high level of professional autonomy, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Ultrasound Unit, establish professional and procedural standards, and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with best practice.
You will lead and support a team of Sonographers while managing complex clinical workloads, resource planning and service delivery.
This role also provides opportunities to contribute to research and clinical audit activities, support quality improvement initiatives, and develop the next generation of healthcare professionals through training, mentoring and education.
Your expertise will help shape a culture of excellence while supporting outstanding imaging outcomes for patients and clinicians.
About You
You are an experienced and accredited Sonographer who combines advanced clinical expertise with strong leadership skills.
Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, you thrive in a complex healthcare environment and enjoy leading teams,



driving service improvement and supporting the development of others.
• Postgraduate Ultrasound qualification with ASAR and AHPRA registration
• Lead teams, manage change and foster a positive workplace culture
• Extensive experience in senior ultrasound and medical imaging leadership
• Deliver quality, safety and service improvement in a complex health setting
