Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement
Location:South Australia
Reports to:Manufacturing Operations Manager
Hands-on | Ownership-driven | Manufacturing-focused
About Us
At Key Tubing & Electrical, we design, manufacture and assemble custom electrical components and refrigeration assemblies.
Unlike many manufacturers, we do almost everything in-house—including injection moulding, extrusion, tube bending, wire processing, cable assembly, tooling, automation and custom machine design.
That means you'll work in a true manufacturing environment where engineering ideas become real improvements on the factory floor.
We're looking for a motivated individual to join our Operations team and help drive continuous improvement across our manufacturing business.
Whether you're an early-career engineer with manufacturing experience or someone looking to take the next step, this is an opportunity to gain broad exposure across engineering, production, planning and continuous improvement.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role where you'll split your time between the production floor and the office, working closely with production, maintenance, quality and planning teams to improve the way we manufacture.
You'll be involved in:
Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.
Supporting Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Assisting with production planning and work order management.
Developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
Supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Monitoring production KPIs and using data to identify improvement opportunities.

Working with operators and supervisors to implement practical process improvements.
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to see the impact of your work firsthand.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working with people.
Ideally you'll have:
An Engineering qualification or related technical discipline.
Around 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing, production or industrial engineering (graduates with relevant manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply).
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, PDCA or Root Cause Analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
A willingness to learn and get involved across different areas of the business.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning or KPI reporting will be highly regarded but isn't essential.
Why Join Key Tubing & Electrical?
This is more than a typical graduate or junior engineering role.
You'll gain practical experience across multiple manufacturing disciplines while working alongside experienced engineers and production teams.
We offer:
Hands-on engineering experience in a diverse manufacturing environment.
Ownership of real continuous improvement projects.
Exposure to automation, manufacturing systems and production planning.
A supportive team that values current ideas and initiative.
Career development and opportunities to grow within the business.
If you're looking to build your engineering career in a company where your ideas can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply nowwith your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you're interested in joining Key Tubing & Electrical.
