IA Group is seeking an experienced Automation and Control Engineer to join its engineering team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the design, implementation, modification, and ongoing performance of automation and control systems, equipment, and industrial plant solutions.
Key Responsibilities Reviewing project requirements, functional specifications, operational processes, and technical information to determine system functions, engineering requirements, and improvement opportunities.
Analysing operational data, equipment performance, facility layouts, and production requirements to identify opportunities for improving system efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
Designing, developing, and implementing electrical, automation, and control systems for industrial automation projects, including configuring PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to enable process monitoring, control, data acquisition, and reporting.
Developing and modifying PLC control programs using industry-standard programming methodologies, including function block diagrams, ladder logic, and IEC ******* programming standards to optimise automated processes and equipment performance.
Preparing engineering specifications, technical documentation, system designs, and project reports, including determining suitable equipment, control components, system configurations, and installation requirements.
Performing system integration, testing, commissioning, and validation activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), to ensure automation systems meet design specifications and operational requirements.
Skills and Experience Required To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years of demonstrated experience in industrial automation, control systems, and engineering project delivery.
Experience with PLC programming, HMI configuration, SCADA systems, and industrial control technologies.
Knowledge of automation system integration, commissioning, testing, and maintenance processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and system documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
