Job Description
Croft Taxi Trucks SA Pty Ltd are based in Somerton Park SA.
Our company provides time-critical metropolitan and interstate freight services.
Additional drivers are required to meet increasing customer demand and maintain service standards.
Our company requires additional experienced drivers who are competent in operating manual heavy combination vehicles.
We are looking for around 15 vacancies to fill.
There are full-time roles for the right applicants.
The Truck Driver (General) will be responsible for:
Operating heavy combination (HC) and multi-combination vehicles where licensed.
Driving manual semi-trailer trucks safely and efficiently.
Transporting freight throughout metropolitan Adelaide and interstate when required.
Loading, unloading and securing freight.
Inspecting vehicles before and after each trip.
Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements.
Completing delivery paperwork and electronic transport documentation.
Complying with NHVR Heavy Vehicle National Law requirements.
Following fatigue management and work diary obligations.
Maintaining high standards of customer service.
Following company safety policies and procedures.
Ensuring freight is delivered safely, securely and on time.
Eligibility Requirements:
A minimum of two years of full-time relevant heavy vehicle driving experience operating semi-trailers or equivalent heavy commercial vehicles is required.




Preference will be given to applicants with experience operating manual transmission heavy vehicles.
Essential requirements include:
Current Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) driver's licence (or overseas equivalent capable of conversion).
Relevant heavy vehicle driving experience.
Ability to obtain any licences required under South Australian legislation.
Ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol testing.
Positive driving history.
Formal tertiary qualifications are not mandatory where sufficient industry experience has been obtained.

Manual Road Ranger gearbox experience.
Heavy vehicle driving skills.
Load restraint and freight securing.
Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility obligations.
Fatigue management knowledge.
Vehicle inspection and basic fault reporting.
Route planning and time management.
Safe reversing and manoeuvring skills.
Ability to follow safety procedures.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Desirable qualifications and skills include:
Forklift licence.
Dangerous
Goods licence.
White Card.
Experience transporting oversized or specialised freight.
Crane or Hiab experience.
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Experience using electronic work diaries and transport management systems.
Defensive driving training.
First Aid Certificate.
Salary - $80,000 - $85,000 p.a. plus super Only eligible and short-listed applicants will be considered.
